It’s been a while since I shared one of my favorite apps! So I thought I would remedy that situation today, and tell you about an app that I discovered almost two months ago. It’s often one of the first apps I open and browse through in the mornings!
With this app, you can connect your Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and Instagram accounts…as well as Foursquare, iPhoto, and Dropbox (which was the last app I reviewed for you!). Each day, you are presented with your status updates, tweets, and photos from years gone by on that particular date. Mine goes back as far as 5 years some days!
I’m not exactly the most interesting person in the world, but I love reading the things I was posting years ago. It often brings back memories of days that I had completely forgotten!
One thing of note, however…they can only display the first 3200 tweets in your account. Some of us have WAY more than that, so Timehop gives you instructions on how to request and upload your full Twitter archive. The only downside I’ve noticed with that is older tweets tend to be out of order sometimes, but that’s a minor thing.
If you visit Timehop’s website, make sure you check out their about page…and mouse over the photos!
The app is able to pull in past updates from numerous social media accounts. It’s private, but allows sharing individual events with family and friends. You are able to set reminders and notifications from the settings page, and you can turn them off if you choose. And…it’s just plain fun!
At this time, it appears that you have to use a Facebook account to login. Older tweets from the Twitter archive are sometimes out of order. If you forget to check the app one day, you can’t go back and see that particular day…you’re only able to see the current day’s timehop. As of right now, this app is iPhone only…but I believe they are working on an Android version.
Have you tried Timehop yet?
